The Alfa Romeo Competizione is a sports car from Italian automaker Alfa Romeo produced. It was first presented as a concept car at the IAA in 2003 and later released for sale for 2007 model year. The name refers to the 8-cylinder (CILINDRO in Italian) Engine (8C) and Alfa Romeo racing pedigree (Competizione, Italian for “Competition”)
The 8C Competizione was introduced at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2003. The lines of the two-seater to the styling of Alfas of the years 1950 and 1960, Echo and the “Competizione” name is an allusion to the 1948 6C 2500 Competizione, that in the years 1949 and 1950 Mille Miglia and was competing in the third place both times. It was the second of these two races, the car of Juan-Manuel Fangio and Augusto Zanardi driven. He won the 1950 Targa Florio. A 3.0-liter prototype was built but not produced. These 6C 2500 models were among the last vehicles with links to the prewar cars.

The Mazda RX8 is a sports car manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation. It first appeared in 2001 at the North American International Auto Show. It is the successor to the RX-7 and like its predecessors in the RX range, it is driven by a rotary engine. The RX-8 began North American sales in the model year 2004.

The Ariel Atom Wrightspeed X1 is an Ariel Atom sports car heavily modified to use an all-electric powertrain. The Atom was chosen for its light weight and efficient design.
The electric motor and inverter are sourced from AC Propulsion, makers of the TZero concept car, while the batteries are low weight, high energy density lithium ion provided from A123 Systems. As with the Atom the transmission is a Honda unit, but stripped of its shifting mechanism and other parts to provide only the second gear speed, allowed by the wide speed and torque range available from the electric motor.
Ariel Atom Wrightspeed X1 Built by San Francisco-based New Zealand engineer Ian Wright, the X1 created a stir when it bested several sports cars in a drag race, including a Carrera GT (though with a rolling start, a disadvantage for the gas burning vehicles), all while being filmed by local news station KRON 4. Despite the impressive performance, the vehicle is intended only as a proof of concept. Future production is planned; however, according to the website, “… the production car will be quite different, since it will meet the safety standards, which the prototype does not. It will, however, be at least as quick as the prototype.” Mr. Wright was an early employee of electric-car company Tesla Motors, but soon left to pursue his own ideas.

The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engine sports car from Porsche in Leipzig, Made in Germany.
The development of the Porsche Carrera GT can return back to their predecessors, the 911 GT1 and LMP1-98 racing cars. Due in part to the FIA and ACO rule changes in 1998, both designs had ended. Porsche had planned at the time on a new Le Mans prototype in 1999. The car was originally to use a turbo flat-6, but was later revised to use a new V10 engine, pushing the project back to the planned completion in 2000. The V10 was a unit secretly built by Porsche for the Footwork Formula One team in 1992 but later shelved. The engine was developed for the Le Mans prototype and increased in size risen 5.7 liters.
Unfortunately, the project was done in two days of testing for the first car in mid-1999, due primarily to do the Porsche Cayenne SUV with involvement from Volkswagen and Audi build and require engineering skills are thus pulled from the motorsports division.
